Stray ice and rainbows

A quick shoot at Ellis Park (my white balance is all over the place, I know). But pieces of the river were everywhere!

I should add, on a couple pictures I was experimenting with a 4-point star filter. But I didn’t have one that actually fits my silly Canon kit lens! So, I held the 62mm filter I had on hand in front of my lens for the pictures with rainbows in them. I’m planning to eventually get one that fits my lens, or, if I get really lucky, replace my lens someday and get one for that lens. For experimental purposes, though, I had fun.

“A snake came to my water-trough…”

Gray treefrog, unidentified snake, an Imperial moth, and some adolescent geese (the goose picture is indulgent, since the quality is poor, but I’m hoping the facial expressions/neck movement in the picture makes up for this).

Also, here’s a photographer I found named Marc Pagani. He devoted an entire section of his portfolio to mountains, including Mt. Rainier, which is awesome in my book:
